Blighty comes to Tinseltown

Had a call from my friend J who just sent me a box of Easter stuff. He went into Rymans to buy some packing and decided not to pay the outrageous cost of £3.50 for friggin' air in little plastic bubbles so he went out and bought two packs of PG tips tea for the same price!! So, I have more tea arriving - hooray!

Dude and doogie for a walk around the block.
Today, I'm a taxi cab to Ontario! Met the sorority crew. M had to go to meetings while munchkin and I played with another sorority Dad (who also happened to be part of the Fraternity) and his daughter.
Sweet. Lots of playing around in a hotel lobby.
Drove home really late - it pee'd down the whole way.

Had a phone call from someone who had had a recommendation about me (always nice) to take part in a new musical compilation show called "Songs & Dances of Imaginary Lands". It's a group called Overtone Industries and it's looks pretty interesting.
Probably go along on Monday night to check 'em out although I have to be careful I don't take on too much. The problem with Hollywood is there's never any shortage of people who want you to do stuff for free or low pay.
Now I'm flattered by the interest but I have a family to support and need to use the time for paid projects.
Basically, the (possible) projects on the horizon include:
Show at the Getty (Paid - auditions very soon) May/June production?
Songs & Dances (Poss some pay - Mon/Tues nights and some weekends) Perf 5/6 June
My film (no pay but great reel stuff) Shoot in the next three weeks. Festival sub deadline May 19th
Stephen's Film (poss some pay but prob not) - shoots? Teaser being shot 5th April.
Gary's project (very secret, prob no pay) - shoots?
Movie group's movie (no pay) - shoots?
Add to that I said I'd help out at the theatre next weekend for S.
Plus I have to leave time open for commercial auditions and that huge crop of auditions I'm going to get from my new Theatrical agent(!)
Need to consider my options....

Hit the office on Thursday and worked through some submissions.
Chatted to J. She has apparently booked herself on a VO class. Interesting... I thought she was 100% on being an agent and sending her resume to the big guys. Hum...
Called C&J casting again to see if I could reshedule BaB for the audition. No luck.
Picked up junior. He had fun as ever.
Home and out to again to the new agent. Had a 10 minute meeting as he reviewed my shots online. Gave me a new LAC account (for their Commercial side). We ended up picking 10 shots. Came home and changed my pics on AA for two of the picks.
Munchkin made an Easter card for his cuz back on the East Coast. Ahh, sweet!
Walked the dog in the evening and walked past a 2bd, 2 br house arounf the corner. They want... wait for it... $4,995 a month. WHAT!!! Greedy bastards!!! For 1200 sqft!!
I cannot believe it. Someone will pay it as well, I bet.

Wednesday...
Class was great. Worked twice. Once coming to Cris and Miche's door and the second was an activity with Chris and Joey. Both went really well. Open and affected by everything. Just how I want to be. The second was hilarious. Joeywas practicing his harmonica and I couldn't help almost peeing my pants with laughter. Everytime I tried to concentrate on my activity, he just started up and I couldn't take him seriously. I set everyone else off and the whole class was killing themselves. Hey ho! I was real!
Had the read of the script with B, R, Y and Mi. Went really well. Loads of great feedback. Came home and rewrote it. Monkey's better and we played a lot!
BaB didn't have her audition details and I was pissed. NO one called them out to her yesterday. Jam only got hers because I phoned her yesterday. Called C & J casting all day and couldn't get hold of them. Called her and apologised. She was very cool about it.

Solar Eclipse time. I remember mine, in Cornwall, England in the late 90's. Wow, I will never forget it. 100% and freaky too.

Ha ha! Good ole Ken! You tell 'em, sunshine!

Oh yeah, he's getting better. Up at 7.30 and straight into 'little tike' mode. Decided to stand on his step in the bathroom in the dark (I turned the light off on him), facing the basin with his arms crossed in defiance. Left him for about 10 minutes and then brought him out (he was still incredibly moany). And bugger me, if he didn't behave like a total pain in the arse all day (even with M which was amusing, I have to say). He really is a handful! Nothing would bring him out of his rants. His cries of 'I WANT MY JUICE' were incredibly forceful.
The rain was pissing down all day (it still is at time of writing, 1am) so couldn't take him to the park or anything so I loaded him into the car and off to the Grove.
I'm telling you, the best time to visit the Grove is when it's cats and dogs! There's next to no-one around. Bless the Angelinos (well, the rich ones at least), they don;t like to get wet, bless 'em. We took full advantage and visited a pretty empty B&N to play in the kids' section.
He also enjoyed holding his umbrella & splashing in the puddles. What kid doesn't?
Called W about the new photos but he was out all day. Damn. This is taking too long.
Anyway, back home. Bath & bed. He crashed out really quickly.
I did my taxes with M and I spent several hours rewriting the script. I have made one slight change. I've swapped the parts. I'm now Brett's part and he's me. Let's see how it works. Going to try a first read with Brett tomorrow.
J & BaB both have auditions 2mrw.

Oh boy, he's getting better! 'No' and 'I WANT'. Looks like him getting better has collided headlong into the terrible twos. Great!
Hosting audition this morning for a pharmaceutical product called Pantisomethingsomething (It's OK, I knew what it was at the audition).
Read the piece twice on camera. Aced it both times. Friendly, concise etc etc. If I don't get it, well I know that it was the best I could do and they're looking for another 'look'. No worries.
Class was a blast. With T. Worked with Cris & Miche (door) and then did my scene with Rich (activity). T said great for the first one and that I worked off both girls without taking anything for granted. And he said that the scene would be ready for next Monday. Cool! Rich was happy too! Great.
Talked over my script with Y & R at a new Cuban place on Magnolia. Nice.
The guys said that there were a lot of unknowns as well a few holes in the script which I had to agree with.
Headed home. Littl'un was feeling even better.
Watched 'In the Clouds' with Charlize. Excellent and not what I expected at all.

Nice and slooooooow today. Littl'un getting more stroppy so he's getting better!
Sent my headshots to my agents and caught up on some reading. Scripts mostly. Audition 2mrw for a hosting spot. Should be fun.

Sleepy Saturday. Monkey's doing a couple of hours here and there and then hitting the sack again! Did some work on the 'puter. I have my online proofs from the shoot. OMG, they look incredible. I'm so happy. Felle is a wonder, a true wonder. She captured everything I wanted, even stuff I didn't know I had! Wow.
Sent Brett the script for CheckIn. Chatted to Gary about everything!
Gavin came over in the evening and we caught up. He's busy doing a ton of stuff and he's probably going back into the Navy and aiming for Admiral in about 13 years (which is what I call a focused, long term goal). He's definitely an inspiration.
Lovely din dins. Gav bolted his (I'm not sure he's eating in his new life as a carefree batchelor)!
Bed late. 1.45am

Munchkin still poorly but in good spirits. Still hasn't broken the fever though...
Ran around last minute trying to sort out some clothes for he photo shoot. Ironed about 4 shirts and a bunch of tee shirts!
Photo shoot with Felle - holy moley - she's fantastic and pretty fit too! Incredibly nice, real and genuine. The snaps she was getting... well, she could even make me look half good - now that's talent! Great couple of hours together. 3 looks, 3 locations.
Turns out she's ex PHW advanced, even dated one of the tutors for a coupla' years. No names! She had snapped Erin C the day before as well. Small world, eh! She's definitely something very special. (she also wondered what the bloody hell was going on in her audit class - just like me).
Home again and off to the docs with monkey. The doctor was, get this, in a Lakers uniform. Now, I'm sorry and casual Friday and all that but the last thing you want is your doctor in is a sports strip. Maybe it's just me but that isn't professional in my book. It's like a doctor back home turning up in a ManU strip. Not professional, right?
And she has an attitude which makes you want to... anyway... munchkin has tonsillitis! That's why the fever wasn't breaking! Off to Savon (via MacaDs for fries of course) and got his penicillin.
Went to BB with our online coupons to rent some Pooh dvds! On the way home, I saw Hugh Laurie waiting at the lights to turn onto Melrose on his Harley! He was gazing off into space probably thinking "I'm sure life wouldn't be this good if I was still in the UK"....
